Senator Manny Pacquiao donates masks to frontliners who are giving services amid the COVID-19 threat.
In a previous report, the boxing champ through his foundation’s official social media account shared that he is partnering with the foundation of Chinese business tycoon Jack Ma in order to provide 50,000 test kits to fight COVID-19.
“The Jack Ma Foundation, in partnership with the Manny Pacquiao Foundation, will be providing 50,000 test kits to combat COVID-19 in the Philippines!” the post on @MPac_ Foundation Twitter account stated.
Following this, a report from ABS-CBN News said that Senator Pacquiao is also donating 600,000 masks to frontliners who are risking their lives in order to help prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.
Reportedly, the Philippine National Police (PNP) will receive 100,000 face masks. Then, 50,000 masks will be given to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) while the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) will have 75,000 masks. Furthermore, 75,000 masks will be allocated to the Department of Health (DOH), and another 75,000 to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
Meanwhile, the remaining 50,000 will be given to other medical workers, based on the report. This donation from Manny Pacquiao is very vital amid the crisis that the country is facing right now, according to Police Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, deputy director for operations of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Celebrities in the Philippines also started their initiatives in helping those who are working hard to prevent the spread of the virus. Celebrity moms Neri Miranda and Pokwang recently gave food to the frontliners near their areas.
