Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto Allows Tricycle Trips Amid Suspension of Public Transport Due To Enhanced Community Quarantine

Mayor Vico Sotto allowed tricycle trips in Pasig City amid the enhanced community quarantine over the entire Luzon.

On Tuesday (March 17, 2020), Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto allowed tricycles to continue conveying passengers in Pasig because the city government has no enough vehicles to provide for all commuters.

The younger Sotto made the decision since health employees and workers of essential services need a transportation vehicle to reach their workplace. The politician also explained that there are some areas that are accessible only by tricycle.

However, the trips of tricycles are still subject to protocols set by the local authorities. The trike drivers and passengers are also urged to observe social distancing to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Health and service workers are still required to report for work despite the enhanced community quarantine advising the public to stay at home.
