State of Calamity Declared by Pres. Duterte in the Philippines Over Coronavirus

DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte declared a state of the calamity in the Philippines over 2019 coronavirus.

The Philippines is currently on the move to prevent the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus. For more than a week now, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases continue to increase.

Currently, there is a total of 187 confirmed coronavirus cases in PH following the recent addition of 45 as recorded by the Department of Health (DOH). Out of the total number, the health department recorded 12 deaths.

Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte has placed the entire Luzon, where most patients are confined, under an “enhanced community outbreak“. Just recently, the President declared a state of calamity in the entire Philippines.

The said declaration allows the LGUs to use their funds in responding to the situation. As of this writing, there are still no further information over the declaration. More updates may be posted soon.
