On Sunday, March 16, Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia has placed Bacolod city under a state of general community quarantine due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The Wuhan virus has infected hundreds of thousands of people worldwide.
The COVID-19 has caused fear and panic to the public after the World Health Organization declared it a “pandemic.” The Philippine government has already implemented precautionary measures to stop the spread of the deadly virus.
Bacolod City government has restricted travel by land, sea, and air. The authorities advised the residents to avoid panic buying.
