Stores in Metro Manila Ran Out of Face Masks Supply

Metro Manila Stores Says Face Masks Supply Disappear

Popular stores in Metro Manila announced that they had run of supply of N95 face masks due to the soaring demand.

The price of face masks throughout Metro Manila spiked up due to the increasing demand in a matter of hours after the unexpected eruption of Taal Volcano. People are desperately buying face masks to avoid exposure to volcanic ashes, which can cause health problems.

Unfortunately, some retailers are taking advantage of everyone else’s desperation to buy face masks. Buyers also complained that some retailers are selling N95 masks up to P200 from the previous P25 to P30.

Several stores in Metro Manila, as well as some retailers in Bambang, had also run out of masks. Handyman and Ace Hardware have also run out of supply due to the sudden spike in demand.

Meanwhile, Sen. Aquilino Pimentel III encouraged the consumers to immediately report any instance of overpricing face masks, which is considered as a violation of the Price Act.
