Class Suspension Declared In Cebu (March 16-28)

WALANG PASOK – Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella declared the suspension of classes in the city.

The coronavirus disease-2019 or novel coronavirus continues to spread in different countries all around the world and affected thousands of people. The deadly virus is already causing fear and panic to the people.

This has caused the Philippine government to implement countermeasures against the virus. In Luzon, Metro Manila has been placed under “community quarantine”.

According to a report from Cebu Daily News, the Mayor suspended classes in Cebu City starting from March 16 to March 28, 2020.

Recently, Labella said he won’t hesitate to put Cebu City under lockdown if needed. Currently, Cebu has no cases of the new coronavirus. As such, Labella emphasized that normal work shall continue. 

Following this, he stated that if the situation gets worse, he would abide by the recommendations of the health office along with the City’s task force.
