On the city’s official Twitter account, they uploaded the update regarding the 1st positive COVID-19 case in the city.

The patient was admitted to the Las Piñas General Hospital (LPGH). Based on the announcement, the first case in the city was confirmed on March 11.

The patient was a 53-year-old without travel history abroad. In Addition, he was the 36th patient to be confirmed with the new coronavirus.

Currently, the Surveillance Team of Las Piñas City Health Office conducted contract tracing with every member of the patient’s family and persons to whom he came in close contact with.

Meanwhile, in the Visayas region, recently, a city mayor revealed that a Negros Oriental town councilor tested positive for coronavirus. Dumaguete Mayor Felipe Remollo confirmed that one (1) of the 49 confirmed coronavirus cases in PH is a councilor from the province.

According to Mayor Remollo, the said 62-year-old councilor has recently visited Manila to attend the Philippine Councilors League. It was held from February 28 to March 1.
