Italy Tourist Spots: List Of Famous Sites Closed Down Until April 3

These known Italy tourist spots are closed until April 3.

ITALY TOURIST SPOTS – To prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), Italy shuts down their famous tourist sites until April 3.

In a previous article, it has been stated that aside from China, the Italy became among the worst-hit in terms of the increasing death tolls and infected patients of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). With the declared massive lockdown, almost 70,000 Filipinos got affected.

With the alarming growth of infected and death tolls, some of the famous tourist sites in Italy face closure until April 3. This is to prevent the spread of the virus. Also, this is accordingly in accordance to the quarantine measures declared by the Italian authorities.

Here is the list of the tourist spots in Italy which will be shut down temporarily:

  • St. Peter’s Basilica
  • St. Peter’s Square
  • Vatican Museums
  • The Colosseum
  • Roman Forum
  • Palatine Hill
  • Domus Aurea
  • Pantheon
  • Galleria Borghese
  • Uffizi Galleries
  • Reggia di Caserta

Starting Monday, masses is also prohibited and all cinemas, theatres, museums, nightclubs, and casinos throughout the country were also closed down as ordered by the Italian government. Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, as per Business Insider, announced on Tuesday a nationwide lockdown as soon as their country exceeded 9,100 of confirmed cases and recorded 463 deaths.

Meanwhile, in the Philippines, as of press time, there’s a total of 49 confirmed cases. The Department of Health (DOH) recorded a local transmission and declared the COVID-19 as “pandemic”. Aside from Italy, Philippines, and China, some of the countries which have confirmed coronavirus cases are United States, Iran, France, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore.
