According to ABS-CBN News, Sevillo David Jr., executive director of NWRB, said that the agency is expecting a rise in water usage as hand hygiene, which is one of the measures to prevent contracting the virus.

The World Health Organization (WHO) said earlier that frequent hand-washing is a more effective way to avoid contracting the new virus.

The agency is considering different scenarios and coordinated with water concessionaires on possible increase in demand due to the viral crisis.

As per the report, among the potential alternative water sources for Metro Manila are Cloudseeding, tapping rivers, fresh water sources, as well as Manila Bay.

The water level at Angat Dam is currently at 200 meters, which is enough for the entire summer, David said.
