Here’s Why Elyson De Dios Ended Stint W/ GMA & Chose ABS-CBN For Showbiz Comeback
ELYSON DE DIOS – Former GMA-7 actor Elyson de Dios revealed the reason why he decided to pursue a career with ABS-CBN.
Several Kapuso stars have transferred to ABS-CBN network. It includes Regine Velasquez, Richard Gutierrez, Iza Calzado, and JC De Vera. All of them decided to switch networks to work with other stars or search for better opportunities.
The Kapamilya faces an uncertain future beyond March 30. 11,000 employees of the network face possible unemployment if Congress won’t approve the bills.
The franchise renewal issue of the ABS-CBN network did not affect some former GMA-7 talent from transferring to their media network. The celebrities who transferred recently include Valerie Concepcion, Rafael Rosell, Matt Evans, and Addy Raj.
Last month, ‘StarStruck 6’ First Prince Elyson de Dios decided to transfer to the Kapamilya network after almost a 2-year hiatus from showbiz. His contract at the Kapuso network ended in 2018, he then decided to return to his hometown to continue his studies.
He luckily bagged the role of Fonzy for “Tabing Ilog The Musical.” Prominent actor Baron Geisler portrayed Fonzy in the hit teen drama which was aired from 1999 until 2003.
Based on a report from PEP, Elyson revealed the reason why he decided to return to showbiz.
“I didn’t feel like finishing my course because hindi ko feel yung course ko. A door opened, an opportunity came, my manager Jonas Gaffud said, ‘This is my plan for you,’ and I took the opportunity po,” Elyson said.
According to the report, Elyson de Dios said he’s happy over his showbiz comeback because he’s immediately offered to star in ABS-CBN’s new program. “Yes, I’m happy na nakasama ako. Pagbalik ko sa showbiz, agad agad, may project na ako,” he said.
The 20-year-old actor is being handled by Star Hunt Management.
