Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez reacted to the bashing that she received following her marriage advice to Sarah Geronimo and Matteo Guidicelli.
In an interview, the Regine said that the newlywed couple should make love frequently. This did not sit well with several netizens including entertainment columnist Ricky Lo. He called the advice of the Songird as “offensive and insensitive”.
Apparently, several netizens also bashed the singer because of this. In line with this, Regine’s husband Ogie Alcasid recently reacted. The OPM icon said that it was his wife’s way of alleviating the tension amid the controversy.
Following this, Regine Velasquez broke her silence regarding her marriage advice that has been tagged “insensitive”. In an interview with Kapamilya entertainment reporter MJ Felipe, the Asia’s Songbird stressed out that she was just joking.
“The question kasi was within the context naman of marriage. They’re getting married. ‘Anong advice mo?’ E, di, siyempre, yun ang sinabi ko,” she said.
She also stressed out that was not the only thing that she advised to Matteo and Sarah. “And first of all, it was a joke, and that interview happened before the concert. So when I said that, it was a joke. Iba pa ang feel. They haven’t gotten married pa that time,” the singer.
Regine was talking about her Unified concert with Sarah that was held last February 14 and 15. When asked what is her advice now to the couple after they got married, the Songbird said, “Yun pa rin! Anong gagawing nila?” she said while laughing.
On a more serious note, Regine Velasquez said that communication is the key in a relationship of a married couple. Amid the differences, problems, and quarrels that may take place, she said in the interview that talking to each would really help.
