Donald Trump Donates $100K Salary To Fight Coronavirus

CORONAVIRUS – The president of the United States of America, Donald Trump, donated his quarterly salary to help fight the deadly coronavirus.

The deadly novel coronavirus or COVID-19 was first reported in Wuhan, China. The city is currently under lockdown to halt the spread of the virus.

3000 people have died while more than 90,000 people across the globe now infected. The virus has swept across Asia and now sparked outbreaks in Europe and the United States.

In a previous article, the World Bank announced that they will donate $12 billion to help the poor countries cope up and fight the coronavirus. The president of the agency, David Malpass, said the money will be used for their medical equipment and health services.

“The point is to move fast. Speed is needed to save lives… we want to make the best use of the World Bank’s extensive resources and global expertise and the historical knowledge of crisis,” said Malpass.

US President Donald Trump decided to donate his quarterly salary to help combat the coronavirus. He directed his $100,000 salary to the Department of Health and Human Services.

White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham, tweeted on Tuesday saying Trumps’ quarterly salary will be donated to “confront, contain and combat,” the virus.

Donald Trump’s son Eric Trump also shared the photo of the check that his father has donated. It came with a caption, “Since this will never get reported by the media, I wanted to share a copy of this check. @realDonaldTrump is once again donating his salary back to the United States Government — This quarter, it will be donated to @HHSGov to confront, contain, and combat #Coronavirus.”
