ISKO MORENO – Manila mayor Isko Moreno signed an ordinance for the establishment of the first Muslim cemetery in the country’s capital.
Actor-turned-politician Francisco Isko Moreno Domagoso currently serves as the mayor of the city of Manila. He is one of the most talked-about politicians today. Lots of people admired him for his passion and perseverance in making the city great again.
In November last year, the chairman of Moro National Liberation Front, Nur Misuari, visited the mayor in his office. Moreno told him that his government will build a cemetery exclusive for Muslims in Manila. He said it’s his “gift” to the Muslim community.

The cemetery for the Muslim will be built inside the vicinity of the Manila South Cemetery. According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, Islam is the 2nd biggest religion in the Philippines after the Roman Catholic.
On Monday, February 2, Isko Moreno has approved an ordinance for the establishment of the 2,400-square meter Muslim cemetery in Manila. He said in a video message uploaded on Facebook.

Isko Moreno said about P49.3 million will be allotted for the construction of the Muslim cemetery. It will be the first Muslim cemetery in Manila. The resting place will be under the supervision of the Manila Health Department.
