A son once returned from the city to his father, who lived in the countryside. The father said that they are going to mow on this day. The father ordered the son to take the rake and help him.
The son, however, said that he does not want to work and told his father that he is a scholar, and he have forgotten all those words he called “peasant words”, further asking his father what a rake is.
He walked across the yard when he stepped on a rake that was lying on the road and it struck him on the forehead.
He suddenly knew what a rake was. Clutching his head, he cried:
“Who left a rake lying here?”
