Coronavirus Death Toll More Than Doubles, Over 60,000 Infected
CORONAVIRUS DEATH TOLL DOUBLES – The deaths caused by the Wuhan coronavirus had seen its biggest spike yet.
Yesterday, China recorded its biggest death toll yet with over 108 deaths in a single day. However, that number more than doubled today with over 242 deaths confirmed by Chinese health authorities in Hubei.
This brings the total deaths in the province alone to 1,310. With that, the total fatalities in mainland China had spiked to 1,355 with the global death toll being 1,357.
According to an article from CNN, there were additional 13,840 cases of the virus confirmed in Hubei on Wednesday. This total the number of confirmed cases to 48,206.
The figure 14,840 already includes both tests confirmed cases and clinically diagnosed patients. With this, the Chinese government explained that it would now be adding “clinically diagnoses cases” in the tally.
This decision was made to give patients easier access to treatments and medications earlier. Meanwhile, the number of hospitalized patients in Hubei jumped to 33,693.
Along with this, 1,437 of those patients are under critical conditions. Although, there were already 3,441 patients that have recovered and were discharged.
As per the article, the global number of confirmed cases of the COVD-19 had now exceeded 60,015. The past majority of these cases came from mainland China.
However, experts suggested that this number could have already reached more than 100,000. Along with this, a Chinese billionaire had claimed to have insider information about the true numbers.
Businessman Guo Wengui revealed leaks from Wuhan crematoriums. He said that based on the number of burning bodies in their furnaces, the death toll could be as high as 50,000.
Wengui also added that the true number of infected from the virus was over 1.5 million in China. He emphasized that these are not suspected cases, but confirmed ones.
