Marcelito Pomoy Say ‘AGT’ Production Chose The Song

Pinoy singer Marcelito Pomoy takes his unique talent to the international stage. He rose to fame after winning Kapamilya’s talent contest ‘Pilipinas Got Talent.’
The 35-year-old singer’s dual voice impressed the crowd and the judges of ‘America’s Got Talent: The Champions.’ In the recent episode of the prestigious show, he performed “Beauty and the Beast” performed by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson.
AGT judges Heidi Klum, Alesha Dixon, and Howie Mandel were all praises for the Filipino singer. They even gave him a standing ovation. However, Simon Cowell wasn’t too impressed by his song choice. He called it ‘predictable.’ He got the fans angry with his comments.
“You are very nice, very talented guy, I gotta tell you. You really really are. And this was even better than the last performance you did. Much much better. However, if it was my choice, on a night like this, I would have done something less predictable,” said Cowell.
In a previous article, a Youtuber named John Master Lee claimed that Simon Cowell’s reaction to Marcelito Pomoy’s performance was fake. In his video, he said the AGT judge’s comment on the semi-finals and the finals episode were the same.
“They reused the same comments from him which means the judges’ comments are fake,” he said.
Based on a report from ABS-CBN, Marcelito Pomoy revealed that the AGT: The Champions production was the one who actually chose the ‘predictable’ song.
“Ang mga crew talaga ang pumili. Nagbabase lang sila sa sinasabi ni Simon kasi si Simon kasi pinaka head dun eh. Kaya wala na silang magawa kundi mga kinakanta ko yung iba hindi na naaprubahan kasi kulang na sa time,” said Pomoy.
