Floating Body Found At Irrigation Canal In Bago City
BAGO CITY – A woman’s body was discovered floating at an irrigation canal at Barangay Atipuluan, Bago City on Wednesday afternoon.
According to SunStar, city police chief Major John Joel Batusbatusan said that a villager saw the victim wearing a red shirt and black pants floating at about 2:30 PM
He added that they immediately coordinated with the Atipuluan Barangay Council to identify the victim yet the council said that she is not a resident of the village.
“Our investigators also coordinated with the nearby Barangay Abuanan, the victim is also not from there,”
The irrigation system connects the city and the town of Murcia. That being said, the police also inquired with the Murcia Police Station to see if they have reports of a missing person from the locals.
“We have yet to check if she is a resident of Murcia, but for now, she remains unidentified.”
Officials said that no injuries were found in the body based on her appearance. Her shirt, however, was partly taken off, in which Batusbatusan deduced that this might be the result of being drifted by the water for a long time.
He added that they are still looking for possible angles but they will consider this a drowning incident. The victim was already taken for a medical examination to see if there is foul play involved.
She will then undergo autopsy upon the family’s approval to determine the cause of her death.
