6 Suspected Coronavirus Cases Reportedly Confined in Tarlac Hospital
SUSPECTED CORONAVIRUS CASES TARLAC – The authorities confirmed that there are suspected cases of nCoV in Tarlac now.
The alarm that the 2019 novel coronavirus caused did not only affect China but several other countries as well. These nations include the Philippines which has now at least 80 suspected cases of nCoV.
The nCoV was first recorded in the city of Wuhan in Hubei Province, China. It is suspected to have rooted from the bat soup served in the market. The city is now under a mandatory lock-down as nearly 8,00 people were infected by the virus.
Last Thursday, the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed the first case of coronavirus in the Philippines. The patient is a Chinese woman who came from Wuhan. The 38-year-old woman flew to PH from Hong Kong together with a companion.
Last Sunday, the DOH confirmed that the companion of the Chinese woman, a Chinese man aging 44 years old, died of coronavirus. It was the first nCoV death case outside China.
Currently, at least 80 people in the Philippines are probed for suspected coronavirus. Based on a report on The Manila Times, there are now six (6) suspected coronavirus cases in Tarlac.
The suspected coronavirus cases in Tarlac reportedly includes Americans, Japanese, and Filipinos who have visited Hong Kong last January 10 to 22. They are admitted at Jecson’s Medical Center.
Based on the report, the patients are admitted at the dormant Station 1 of the hospital through Dr. Jose Chua Jr. The DOH-RESU personnel were already informed so their specimens can be taken for checking.
Tarlac City Mayor Cristy Angeles has also ordered all the hospitals to report to her the suspected nCoV cases. More updates may be posted soon.
