Drugstore in Beijing Fined Almost $430,000 for Overprice Masks
A drugstore in Beijing has been fined three million yuan or more than $ 430,000 for overpricing of masks amidst novel coronavirus outbreak.

According to the report of ABS-CBN News, Beijing municipal market regulator said, that the Beijing Jimin Kangtai Pharmacy raised the price of N95 masks and issued a notice of administrative penalty. The pharmacy has raised nearly six times the original price.
The drugstore raised 3M brand face masks at 800 yuan per box, while its online price stood at just 143 yuan per box.

In Shanghai, a regulator closed a pharmacy for selling sub-standard face masks. It ordered the drugstore to refund customers’ money and dispose of unsold low-quality face masks.
The demand for face masks has increased since the spread of nCoV, which began in Wuhan City. Local residents, as well as foreign visitors, store not only face masks but hand sanitizers as virus protection.
The factories are struggling to increase their production due to the rapid increase in the number of people affected by nCoV.
