Filipinos in China Want To Go Home To PH Amid Coronavirus Outbreak

FILIPINOS IN CHINA – Several Pinoys in China are seeking the help of the government amid the outbreak of coronavirus in the Chinese country.

Currently, a lot of people are worried over the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in China. It has reached several other countries and more and more people are adding to the list of infected individuals.

The novel coronavirus which is described as a disease with flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, and breathing difficulties) was first recorded in Wuhan City. It is suspected that the root of the outbreak is a bat soup sold in the market in Wuhan.

Several other countries have already confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus. Japan, United States, Nepal, Australia, and France are among those with confirmed cases. Most patients came from China.

In the Philippines, the Department of Health (DOH) previously announced that eleven (11) individuals are investigated over the coronavirus issue. The public was advised to be extra careful on their health.

There are Pinoys in China. Some are OFWs while others just came there for a vacation. However, they were stranded as Wuhan City is under a lock-down now to curb the spread of the virus.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, about 1/3 of the Filipinos in China is now seeking the help of the government. They wanted to go home to the Philippines amid the outbreak of the coronavirus in China.

According to Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, the Philippines is ready to fetch the Pinoys in China by air. Even the Senator himself wanted these Pinoys to be brought home as long as they are “negative”.

“As long as talagang negative, talagang malinis at hindi affected ng virus,” Sen. Go expressed based on the report.

According to the Senator, the Philippine government still awaits the decision of China. Around 30 to 50 Filipinos wanted to be repatriated.
