Ricky Lo on Nadine Lustre after JaDine breakup was confirmed: “honesty is the best policy”
Entertainment columnist Ricky Lo fired back to actress Nadine Lustre after her breakup with James Reid was confirmed.
It can be recalled that Nadine slammed Ricky’s article about her then-rumored breakup with James Reid. The actress belied what was written in the said article. “None of what you said was true,” she said referring to the columnist.
Because of that, JaDine fans also criticized the columnist. Radio host Jobert Sucaldito came to the rescue to defend Ricky. On his radio program on DZMM, he ranted against Nadine. He also received bashing from the loveteam fandom. Following that, ABS-CBN News Chief Ging Reyes issued an official statement about that. A public apology from Jobert was the next thing that happened.
On January 20, James and Nadine confirmed that they already separated through their joint statement on Tonight with Boy Abunda. This ignited clamor on social media as some alleged that there was a third party. Those who are taking the side of Nadine slammed James and the rumored other woman Issa Pressman.
After the ex-couple released their joint statement, Ricky Lo shared his reaction to JaDine breakup. Based on the Twitter post of CNN Philippines, the columnist said that he is thankful to the couple for confirming their breakup. “Exactly two weeks after I broke the story in my STAR column – that is after Nadine denied it with impunity,” he said.
He also said that he chose to remain silent even though the actress lambasted him and made him look a liar. The columnist stressed out that he only writes delicate stories from reliable sources and after he double-checked it. “In any case, whether showbiz or elsewhere, honesty is the best policy,” he said. Then, he added, “O, Nadine, ano na? 2020 na!!!”
