April 9, 2020 – Triple Pay Awaits Those Who Will Work According To NWPC

NWPC Announces Triple Pay for those Who Will Report To Work on April 9, 2020

APRIL 9, 2020 – The National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) announced that those who will work on that day are entitled to a triple pay.

Every year, there are several holidays. Some of these are regular holidays and the work and classes are suspended to give everyone the full opportunity to participate to the event or celebration.

During regular holidays, employees are usually entitled to a 100% work pay even if they will not report to work. In the cases of those who will be working, they will receive double of their salaries on that day.

Most regular holidays are marked as red in Philippine calendars. These events and celebrations are on the nationwide arena.

Aside from the regular holidays, there are also special non-working days. During these days, workers who will report to work are usually entitled to an additional 30% of their daily work pay.

In line with the holidays, among the upcoming ones include the “Day of Valor” (Araw ng Kagitingan) and the Maundy Thursday. The latter is part of the holy week celebrated by the Catholic people.

Based on a recent social media post of National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC), this year, the “Day of Valor” and the Maundy Thursday will fall on the same day. It will be on April 9.

According to NWPC, on April 9, 2020, those who will be working will received a 300% of their daily wage or triple pay. It is because two (2) regular holidays fall in the same day.

Based on the post, if you did not work on the said day, you may be entitled to a 200% work pay or double pay. Here is the NWPC’s post on Facebook.
