Reza Pahlavi, the former Iran Crown Prince, also urged Western powers not to negotiate with it. He added that major protest which stemmed following the accidental downing of a Ukranian passenger jet reminded him of the uprising.

He recalled that because of that uprising, his father was ousted in early 1979. “It’s just a matter of time for it to reach its final climax. I think we’re in that mode”, he added.

This is weeks or months preceding the ultimate collapse, not dissimilar to the last three months in 1978 before the revolution

In addition, he stated that exiled activists could routinely predict the fall of the regime. However, he emphasized that Iranians could “smell the opportunity for the first time in 40 years this time”.

Based on a report from ABS-CBN, the Iranian heir to the throne had not been in Iran since he was a teenager. Now 59-years-old, Pahlavi cited evidence of what he called as easing of fear among protesters.

As per the article, Pahlavi also stated that he largely agreed and supported President Donald Trump’s maximum pressure campaign. This aimed to isolate the Iranian regime through severe sanctions.

It has long been time to recognize that this is not a normal regime and that it will not change its behavior.

My compatriots understand that this regime cannot be reformed and must be removed

He added that Iranians expect the world to show much more than moral support. “They expect not to be thrown under the bus in the name of diplomacy and negotiation”, said Pahlavi.
