This is the character Joshua Garcia gave life to through his voice.

ABS-CBN actor Joshua Garcia is joining Filipino-dubbed ‘Inside Out 2’ on Disney+ as he lends his voice to this character.

‘Inside Out 2’ is one of Pixar’s highest-grossing films and for the record, it is the highest-grossing animated movie of all time with $1.6 billion at the worldwide box office. This is Pixar’s sequel to its 2015 hit.

This story features personified emotions living inside the head of the movie’s young heroine Riley. The new emotions introduced in the sequel are anxiety, ennui, embarrassment, and envy.

Months after its cinema release, the Filipino-dubbed version will be streamed on Disney+ starting September 25 and among the actors who lent his voice for the movie is Joshua Garcia.

In the Filipino-dubbed version, Joshua’s voice is given to Lance Slashblade, a dramatic anime hero on whom Riley had a secret crush. For the actor, this is his first time to be lending his voice in an animation, and as a fan of animation and the said movie, he was thrilled to do the voice over.

“Fan talaga ako ng animation at ng ‘Inside Out,’ kaya na-excite ako sa opportunity na ‘to. Akala ko nung una madali lang siya, pero hindi biro ‘yung experience kaya looking forward ako makita ‘yung final,” he said.

He did it despite feeling nervous. He thought this job would be easy but he was wrong. It was difficult, but at the same time, it was rewarding. It was a good experience and something that made him realize that being a voice actor is not an easy job.

Apart from the deep Tagalog, he also learned how big the emotions demanded in being a voice actor. He also shared that he could relate to Slashblade as an actor. He could relate to the character who was confused as to why he was chosen by Riley despite being a weak one.

“Mas lumawak ‘yung knowledge ko sa sining ko, sa art ko, sa acting ko, dahil ginawa ko ‘to kasi siyempre nag-dub ako,” he said.

Meanwhile, Joshua’s recent film with Julia Barretto “Un/Happy For You” was a success. It received great success proving that after all these years, their chemistry is still there and most especially, their fans have remained.
