Trump’s statement came following Iran’s attack on two Iraqi bases that housed US troops. According to Iran, the attack was done as “revenge” for the death of Qasem Soleimani.

In his statement in a televised address to the nation, Trump emphasized that no Americans were harmed in the missile attack. Then, he promised to impose “punishing” economic sanctions on Iran.

Although Trump has seemed to call for peace, he defended his decision of targeting Soleimani. Trump added that Soleimani was the “world’s top terrorist” and “should have been terminated long ago”.

In his address, he opened by saying that as long as he is President, he would never allow Iran to get a nuclear weapon.

Trump also stated that Americans should be “extremely grateful and happy” with the turn of events. He then urged the UK, Germany, France, Russia, and China to break the Iran deal.

The time has come for the UK, Germany, France, Russia and China to recognize this reality. They must now break away from the remnants of the Iran deal and work together toward making a deal with Iran that makes the world a safer and more peaceful place

However, in his speech, President Trump did not mention the crash of the Ukranian flight in Iran. The horrible incident took the lives of 167 passengers, including 63 Canadians.

Unfortunately, the airplane crashed shortly after it departed from the airport in Iran. The Ukranian plane crash took place between Parand City and Shahriar City.
