POPE FRANCIS SLAPS WOMAN’S HAND – Pope Francis was caught on video slapping the hand of a woman that pulled him close during new year’s eve.

As the Pontiff was greeting the people on the side, the woman grabbed the Pope’s hand and pulled him towards her. This made the pope lose his composure and slapped the woman’s hand and walked away in anger.
According to a report from CNN, the Pope apologized for his actions the following day. Not only that, but the Pontiff also denounced violence against women.

The Pope said, “I apologize for the poor example yesterday”. He added that “women are sources of life”.
“We lose patience many times”, Pope Francis stated in front of the congregation. “It happens to me too. I apologize for the bad example given yesterday“.
In the video, the pope could clearly visibly upset during the incident. As per the report, before the woman yanked the Pope close to her, she made the sign of the cross.

However, it was still unclear what the woman was trying to tell the Pope. Afterward, security intervened and the Pope walk away.
After the incident, the Pope went on to address his actions and said that “Every form of violence inflicted upon a woman is a blasphemy against God, who was born of a woman”.
In addition to this, the Pope also told the congregation that women “should be fully included in decision-making processes”.
The pope stated, “Every step forward for women, is a step forward for humanity as a whole”.
