Fellow Guard Allegedly Shot 2 DPWH Security Guards During Christmas Party
DPWH SECURITY GUARDS – Two (2) guards of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) were shot during their Christmas party.
Now that it is Christmas season, parties and celebrations are left and right. Many are taking this opportunity to reunite with families and catch up with friends. The students are on a Christmas break and some people are also on a holiday break.
Aside from family reunions and catching up with friends, some public and private companies also hold Christmas parties. It is a time for the employees to enjoy a day away from work and bond with each other.
One of the public agencies that hold Christmas parties is the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). Almost every DPWH office holds a party. However, recently, an unexpected incident took place during the Christmas party of an office in Manila.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, two (2) DPWH security guards were shot by their fellow guard during a Christmas party. The victims 36 years old and 63 years old.
The suspect was identified as Wilfredo Gamayon. The party was held at their office at the Port Area in Manila.
Based on the report, the victims were close to each other when Gamayon allegedly fired. After it, the 40-year-old guard threw his firearm and ran away from the area.
The two (2) security guards were brought to the hospital but they did not make it. They were both declared dead-on-arrival (DOA).
Aside from the two (2) security guards, a woman and a manager of the agency were also left injured by the incident. Wilfredo Gamayon was arrested by the authorities and is under investigation.
