CARLOS YULO – Here is the reason why Carlos Yulo almost quit gymnastics two years ago.
Artistic gymnast Carlos Yulo is the first Pinoy and the first male to bag a medal at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. His winning secured his qualification to compete for the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan in 2020.
The 19-year-old athlete also captured the gold medal at the 30th edition of the Southeast Asian Games. In a previous article, his performance at the Pommel Horse event went viral on social media.
Two days ago, Carlos Yulo uploaded the screenshot of Mark Bautista’s personal message to him on Twitter. His post drew the attention of the online community. Some netizens put some malice to it.
The fuss is probably because he came out of the closet. The singer was just congratulating the young athlete for his latest achievement.
In a report, Carlos Yulo took to Twitter to speak about Mark Bautista’s message which garnered malicious comments from the netizens. “It saddens me to see tweets about [Mark Bautista] because of my tweet out of excitement. Kindness, message of encouragement and appreciation is not a sign of flirting. Let’s focus on #SeaGames2019 and winning as One,” he wrote.
Carlos Yulo was recently interviewed by ABS-CBN reporter Karen Davila. He talked about the lowest moments of his career and revealed that he once thought of quitting gymnastic two years ago.
SEA Games champion said his trainers are one of the reasons why he could not focus on his training. He said he always think negative thoughts and spent a year doing nothing in Japan.
Yulo admitted that he had few problems while training in Japan. He had a hard time adapting to the Japanese culture, the language, and he’s longing for his family.
