TULIPS – In this topic, we will now know and discuss about a genus of spring-blooming perennial flowers called tulips.
Also known as Tulipa, as mentioned above, these are perennial herbaceous bulbiferous geophytes or flowers that have bulbs as storage organs.
These are usually large, showy and brightly colored. Colors include red, pink, yellow, or white, which most of them are classified as warm colors.
This genus are usually found in a band from Southern Europe up to Central Asia but they have been widely naturalized in the 17th century.

- Also known as Didler’s Tulip or garden tulip, is a plant that is cultivated as an ornamental in many countries. It has large, showy flowers and are late bloomers.
- Tulipa clusiana
- Also known as lady tulip. it is a tulip from Asia that is native to Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan and the western Himalayas. These are cultivated as an ornamental and are naturalized in France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Tunisia, Greece, and Turkey.
