The bureau added that Kammuri will bring rains and winds over parts of Luzon next week, the same week where the 30th Souutheast Games are held.

According to ABS-CBN News, the typhoon was last spotted at about 1,350 kilometers east of south Luzon at about 3 AM.

It is packed with maximum sustained winds of about 130 kilometers per hour and gustiness of about 160 kilometers per hour.

Once it enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), it will be locally called “Tisoy” and the 20th storm to enter this year 2019. The biennial 30th SEA Games will open on December 30 (Saturday).

As per the report, Kammuri will bring strong winds and rains to Southern and Central Luzon; and Metro Manila, which happened to be the areas where the games are held.

The soon to be Tisoy is expected to hit land in Bicol Region, Quezon and Aurora provinces. Residents in these areas, especially in coastal occasions, are warned of big waves.

The typhoon is less likely to become a super typhoon due to the northeast monsoon or amihan. Kammuri will be packed with about 130 kilometers per hour of winds if it is at its strongest.
