Pres. Duterte Willing To Let Vice Pres. Robredo Handle the Drug War for 6 Months
DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte expressed readiness to give the drug war lead to Vice Pres. Leni Robredo.
The anti-drug campaign of the current administration has gained different reactions from the people. Not only Filipinos but even international entities comment to it.
Some Pinoys are praising the government for uncovering the alarming reality in the Philippines while some are not in favor of the actions of the authorities.
As to Vice Pres. Leni Robredo, based on a report on The Philippine Star, the drug war of the current administration needs some “tweaking”. To this, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte reacted.
According to the report, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte expressed readiness to give the lead of the drug war to Vice Pres. Leni Robredo. He was speaking to the appointees at the Malacañang Palace during their oath-taking then.
“I am sending a letter to her… I will surrender the power to enforce law… I will let her have it for six months, “ the President expressed.
Also, the President expressed a challenge to the Vice President on what will happen if she will be the one to lead the campaign.“Mas bright ka? Ikaw, subukan mo,” he said.
Based on the report, in a chance interview, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte clarified that he is not surrendering anything to Vice Pres. Leni Robredo but he is willing to give the lead of drug war if she wants to. According to him, he will give her the “full powers” for six (6) months to see if she can do it.
The reaction of the President is in line with the “complain” of the Vice President. Meanwhile, he stressed that she is free to say whatever she wants in lieu of democracy in the country.
