Gretchen Barretto Visited Dad’s Wake w/out Tonyboy Cojuangco
TONYBOY COJUANGCO – Businessman Atong Ang revealed why business tycoon Tonyboy Cojuangco was not with Gretchen Barretto when she visited her father’s wake.
One of the most controversial issue nowadays is the tension that sparked at the wake of Miguel Barretto, the father of actresses Gretchen, Marjorie, and Claudine Barretto. The issues between the celebrity sisters was ignited.
Gretchen was not in good terms with her parents and Marjorie for a long time. She and her father were not able to see each other when he was fighting for his life at the hospital. He was confined at St. Luke’s Medical Center for more than two (2) weeks before he passed away.
Gretchen Barretto visiting her dad’s wake did not sit well with Marjorie Barretto. It sparked a tension even when President Rodrigo Roa Duterte was there and offered to help fix things between them.
Gretchen Barretto came to the wake with businessman Atong Ang and not her longtime partner, businessman Tonyboy Cojuangco. Undeniably, it sparked allegations as the former actress is linked to Atong.
Many were curios why it was not Tonyboy who came to the wake with Gretchen but Atong. The issues involving the two (2) were ignited by their sweet photos going viral online.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, speaking to TV Patrol’s Noli de Castro, Atong Ang reacted to the issue. He revealed that it was Tonyboy Cojuangco who asked him to accompany Gretchen Barretto at the wake of her dad.
According to Atong, Gretchen had no plans to go to the wake to avoid tension but the Presidential Managament Staff (PMS) requested her to be there during the visit of the President. It is no secret to the public that the former actress has a good relationship with the President.
“Tumawag sa akin si Tony. Sabi sa akin, ‘Pare, pakisamahan si Gretchen, baka mapaaway ‘yan doon’,” he said based on the report. Tonyboy was suffering from backache then so he cannot come with her.
Atong stressed that when the tension was ignited between the Barretto sisters, all he did was protect the President and Gretchen. He bellied Marjorie Barretto’s claim that he tried to grab her.
