Manila Mayor Francisco Isko Moreno Domagoso is one of the most controversial politicians in the country today. He has gained lots of praise from his fellowmen while others consider him as boastful.
Moreno’s fellow politicians like Senators Panfilo Lacson, Manny Pacquiao, and President Rodrigo Roa Duterte commended him for his passion for public service. In fact, his achievements made Lacson think of his retirement.
Based on a report from Inquirer, Mayor Isko Moreno ordered the closure of Isetann Recto Mall on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. The establishment allegedly misrepresenting applications for permits and violation of city ordinances.
The 44-year-old politician served the closure order himself after he discovered that the owner of the mall ‘Tri-Union Propertied, Inc.’ was letting a lessor operate without a business permit.
“In relation to the multiple leased out stalls and spaces, there is no valid and existing business permit as a lessor,” said Moreno.
Aside from that, the mall owner was also misrepresenting the actual business area. They only declared the mall only occupy 1000 square meters. However, Moreno said the establishment may reopen once they comply with the government’s requirements.
