VIETNAM FACTS – Here are some facts about Vietnam that you probably don’t know yet if you’re planning to go there for the first time.
A mixture of beautiful scenery, friendly locals, exquisite cuisine, and burgeoning business opportunities describe Vietnam. Now, if it is your first time travelling there, here are some tips for you in order to survive your trips.

- Use both hands when passing any items to someone.
- Dress accordingly to their culture where shorts should be below the knees and the shoulders are covered.
- Take off hat to pay respect to all elderly or respected members of society, such as monks.
- Be sure to take your shoes off before entering someone’s home or temples.
- Always see to it to finish your meal and if you don’t like a certain dish, better leave it untouched than having a small bite and disregard it afterwards.
- Tipping is hugely appreciated.
- Don’t do PDA or just even merely touching a person of the opposite sex in public. Also, you just can’t touch an adult’s head or shoulders.
- Instead of pointing with one finger, use your palm.
- DON’T: cross arms in public, stand with your hands on your hips, and pass anything over someone’es head.
- Note that if you are invited in a Vietnamese home, be sure to bring fruit, sweets, flowers, fruit, or incense and presents in colorful wrapper. Avoid giving handkerchiefs, anything black, yellow flowers, or chrysanthemums.
- Table manners: the eldest should sit first, hold the bowl close to the face when eating, spoon on left when eating soup, and rest the chopstick on top of the rice bowl to indicate you’re finish eating.
