Lying off the east coast of Asia is Japan which is also called as the “Land Of The Rising Sun” and the world’s 4th largest island country and encompasses about 6,852 islands. Surely, a lot of people dream to go there and have a vacation.

And for those who are planning to stay in Japan, here are some customs you must know first before visiting the country:

  • Blowing nose in public is regarded as a rude act and disgusting.
  • Tipping is insulting. If one have offered you service and you feel like giving a tip for offering you a hand, just leave a small present instead.
  • Truly, eating while while walking is quite convenient especially to those who were in a rush but in Japan, it is rude to eat in public or in trains. But eating an ice cream cone on the street is an exception.
  • Japanese tolerate people who accidentally falls off their head on another’s shoulder. It is considering the fact that perhaps, that one person is tired from work which is why he falls asleep in train.
  • If you have been invited by someone in their house, in Japan, you must bring a present for the host. The gift must look presentable and one must not refuse. But it is practiced in their to protest at first.
  • To some Asian countries, slurping of noodles loudly is such a disturbing act. But in Japanese, doing this means you enjoyed your food so much and might make one avoid his tongue burnt as per Business Insider.
