And in overcoming pain, here are some tips and ways to finally get over him or her:

  • NEVER COMMUNICATE – At least for a while, never contact or have any communication with that person. Help yourself get healed and give yourself the time to feel the pain until its gone. You have to understand that it’s all over and there’s no way to give yourself reasons to get hurt even more by seeing him with someone else or among other reasons.
  • FIND A HOBBY – This is one way to give more time for yourself first. Being single is not bad at all. This is actually a chance to grow and to be independent because at a time, you have become dependent on someone including your happiness. It’s time to love yourself, grow, and be happy even without that special someone.
  • FOCUS ON YOURSELF – Buy yourself something, travel, go out with friends more often, and get rid of the stresses. No one is going to be there with you or buy you that food but you can surely do it for yourself. Exercise your freedom and independence. Put more focus on yourself.
  • ACCEPTANCE – Be real with yourself and accept the fact that it won’t just work though you both did everything to save it. Just embrace the reality that both of you have done something for your relationship to end and reflect to it. Take note of your mistake so that in case you want to love again, you will know how to handle such cases better.
  • VENT – Never keep the pain to yourself only. There are your friends and your family who are willing to listen to you and be with you as you try to heal and get back to yourself again. Verbalize your feelings and know that you are not alone in that battle.
  • GRIEVE – And lastly, Psych2Go suggested: Truly, a breakup is painful, thus, give yourself the time to grieve and cry. Healing takes time and it doesn’t happen in an instant. However, do not let this pain consume you and your identity. You can surely get over through it, just give yourself the time to heal.
