According to a report on ABS-CBN, the previously reported LPA was detected at about 975 kilometers east of the city of Catarman, Northern Samar and is currently moving northwest.

The disturbance is reported to have a slight possibility of becoming a tropical cyclone. Despite this, it will still bring rainshowers on the eastern part of the Philippines, according to weather specialist Ariel Rojas.

As per the report, the disturbance’s trough will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in the following areas:

  • Bicol Region
  • Eastern Visayas
  • Dinagat Islands
  • Surigao del Norte
  • Surigao del Sur

Meanwhile, the still-occurring southwest monsoon which is currently affecting the western part of Northern and Central Luzon, brings isolated rain over the following areas:

  • Batanes
  • Babuyan Group of Islands

As for the capital and the rest of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, they will face partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains caused by localized thunderstorms. It was previously reported that until now the agency haven’t raised a gale warning in any part of the archipelago.
