In our previous report regarding the current situation of the region, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) warned Filipinos, both residing and travelling, to avoid areas swarmed with protesters, further advising them to check their safety first and take all necessary precautions.

The agency further encouraged the public to stay vigilant for updates and advice from the government and local authorities.

Recently, as per the article from GMA News, the region’s airport announced that it will implement rescheduling of flights, as flight movements are expected to be affected.

This is due to what China said regarding the anti-government protest which went widespread and prevented flights a day earlier which was rendered to show instances of terrorism.

The airport’s notice came from the Hong Kong International Airport’s official mobile app which was published at approximately 6 a.m. or 10:00 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time on Monday (August 12).

As per the report, the airport, which is one of the world’s busiest, held the demonstrators accountable for postponing flights on August 12 (Monday).
