Free Rides For Students Starts on Monday (July 1)
The free rides for preschool to college students in selected railway systems in the Philippines starts on Monday (July 1, 2019).
Last week, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced that the Filipino students could now avail free railway rides and free seaport and airport terminal fees.
The Transportation Department said that the students could avail the free trip in three railway systems including MRT-3, LRT-2, at PNR.
Here are the schedules of the free trips for students:
Monday – Friday
MRT-3
• 5:00 a.m – 6:30 a.m
• 3:00 p.m – 4:30 p.m
LRT-2
• 4:30 a.m – 6:00 a.m
• 3:00 p.m – 4:30 p.m
PNR
• 5:00 a.m – 6:00 a.m
• 3:00 p.m – 4:00 p.m
However, free trips are only available during weekdays. Weekends and holidays are excluded from the program.
Preschool, elementary, high school, senior high school, college, and vocational students could avail the free trips by just showing a valid school ID starting Monday.
