Possible Tropical Depression Near Mindanao Being Monitored by PAGASA
The state weather bureau PAGASA is now monitoring a low-pressure area near Mindanao that could turn into a tropical depression & enter PAR this weekend.
On Friday (June 21, 2019), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that a low-pressure area has been spotted at 1,300 kilometers east of Mindanao.
PAGASA said that the low-pressure area was still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

However, the weather disturbance could intensify into a tropical depression and possibly breaks into the country’s vicinity by Saturday or Sunday.
The LPA will be given a local name “Dodong” if it enters PAR, the fourth tropical cyclone to possibly hit the Philippines this year.
The weather disturbance came a week after the weather agency officially declared the beginning of the rainy season.
