Family of Eddie Garcia agreed to Do Not Resuscitate or DNR order
The family of veteran actor Eddie Garcia agreed to “do not resuscitate” or DNR order following his accident on the set of Kapuso series Rosang Agimat.
According to the website of MedlinePlus the DNR is a medical order written by a doctor. It provides instruction to health care providers not to do cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) if the patient stops breathing or if the patient’s heart stops beating.
After the accident, Eddie was comatose and it a week passed but his condition remained the same.
A previous report stated that the doctor of the veteran actor said that only a miracle can save him now.
He “is dependent on ventilator and medications to support his blood pressure,” Dr. Tony Rebosa, one of his attending physicians said.
Following this news, an article from PEP stated that the family of Eddie Garcia already agreed to “do not resuscitate” order.
A medical bulletin from Dr. Rebosa stated this on the night of June 14:
“Pls be informed that the family of Mr. Eddie Garcia has not authorized nor has it consented to withdrawal of life support. They have however agreed to place him on DNR status. Thank you.”
At the time of writing, the veteran actor is still in comatose and in critical condition at the Intensive Care Unit of Makati Medical Center.
Based on the recent Instagram post of GMA reporter Nelson Canlas, a healing mass was held last night at Saint Andrew the Apostle Church for the legendary actor.
Family and friends gathered together to pray for Eddie Garcia.
