Isko Moreno and Erap Estrada appeared to be “nag-iiwasan”
Incoming Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and outgoing Mayor Erap Estrada appeared to be “nag-iiwasan” but both camps denied that the cancellation of their meeting.
Isko and Erap, though they both came from the showbiz industry became rivals last 2019 mid-term elections.
The younger politician said in a previous report that his “pagbigay-daan” to the older politician has ended. Isko claimed the he had to give way for Erap as the latter wanted to extend his term as a Mayor of Philippines’ capital city.
As the former That’s Entertainment member is about to assume the mayoralty position, he was supposed to have a courtesy call to the former President of the country.
This is supposed to happen on June 14, Friday but it was not followed as it was previously scheduled.
However, based on the report from Inquirer, both camps denied the cancellation of the meeting.
A staff member from the office of Erap Estrada, who requested anonymity, said that Isko was not available for the meeting. In addition, the staff member said that the meeting would likely to be rescheduled on Monday, June 17, at 2PM.
However, the camp of the incoming mayor denied the statement from the camp of the outgoing mayor.
Isko Moreno, reportedly was available for the meeting.
An advisory from the camp of Isko stated this: “In fact, he is in Intramuros right now as of writing. He can just walk towards City Hall.”
The camp of the younger politician added that Alex Morales, the chief of staff of the older politician was the one who requested to reschedule the courtesy call on Monday, based on the report.
