The World’s Tallest Building Will Feature The Philippine Colors

PHILIPPINE COLORS – Red, blue and yellow are the dominant colors of the Filipino flag, these colors are set to be displayed on the world’s tallest building.

Today, Filipinos gather in celebration to commemorate the country’s emancipation from foreign colonizers. This is the 121st Independence Day celebration in the country.

Meawhile, our fellow countrymen who is currently residing or working in Dubai, United Arab Emirates will be enjoying the scheduled display of the Philippine flag on the World’s Tallest Building – the Burj Khalifa.

This is also to join the Filipinos in celebrating the 121st Independence Day this June 12 – Wednesday.

This will be the first time that the city would join the Filipino celebration since the Burj Khalifa opened its doors to the public way back in January 2010.

Paul Raymund Cortes – Philippine Consul General from the Philippine Consulate in Dubai, UAE – shared about the anticipated display being an event that symbolizes something bigger in his statement:

“This monumental occasion manifests the collective pride and joy of the Filipino Community in the UAE and their appreciation to the multi-cultural community in the country for welcoming them in this diverse society.”

Approximately, there are about 750,000 Filipinos current residing at the United Arab Emirates.

One of them, is Noel Cabitac, a Filipino resident in Dubai who is also looking forward to see the display that is set to happen by 9:40 pm.

According to him, the UAE government initiated the display to recognize the Filipino community’s contribution to their nation. He said:

“Pinapahalagahan ng UAE government ang naging contribution natin dito sa pamamagitan ng pag-display ng Philippine flag sa pinakamataas na building sa buong mundo.”
