Recently, Manuel Degollacion, the suspect’s lawyer, said that he wants the police to lower the murder case to homicide.

“That’s the only time that he will plead guilty, the strategy is to make sure that the sentence to be imposed is lower degree. That’s the duty of the lawyer,” Degollacion said.

However, no clear basis was cited for the bid to downgrade the charge.
