P1,000.00 Fine Imposed on Ex-Samar Mayor Who Pleaded Guilty On Case Involving Php 282K Gov’t Fund

EX-SAMAR MAYOR – Former Samar Mayor Francisco Maceren Langi Sr. was fined Php 1,000.00 after his guilty plea on a case involving Php 282,000.00 government fund.

Undeniably, in the Philippines, a lot of government officials are facing charges over unlawful moves. One of them is former Samar Mayor Francisco Maceren Langi Sr.

Langi was charged with graft following his alleged reimbursement worth Php 282,315.40 to himself.

Based on a report on GMA News, the said amount was allegedly reimbursed over the expenses on goods and services under the Agricultural Productivity Development Program of Motiong.

Recently, an update over the case crossed the surface.

Ex-Samar Mayor

Reportedly, the ex-Samar Mayor pleaded guilty over the allegation. The Sandiganbayan Second Division charged him with violation of the Government Auditing Code and he should pay Php 1,000.00 as a fine.

Based on the report, the former Samar Mayor failed to give a justifying reason over his move. He pleaded guilty for a lesser offense over the issue.

It was Division chairperson Associate Justice Oscar Herrera Jr. who signed the decision regarding the case of the former Samar mayor.
