Luzon Grid Placed Under Yellow Alert (May 21), NGCP Says
The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) announced that yellow alert status has been raised again in Luzon Grid.
On Tuesday (May 21, 2019), Luzon Grid has been placed again under yellow alert due to thinning services.
NGCP announced that the yellow alert will be raised from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon and from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

The Luzon Grid’s expected peak demand reached 11,163 Mega Watts against its available capacity of 11,933.
Yellow Alert is a condition wherein the available capacity of the biggest plant online is more than its reserves.
However, the yellow alert does not mean that power outages will be implemented.

The Department of Energy (DOE) will announce further details and updates regarding the matter.
