Three from the Idol Philippines judges lambasted online after rejecting this Reggae singer.
IDOL PHILIPPINES JUDGES – Here are some of the reactions of the netizens after three of four judges of Idol Philippines said “No” to Luke Baylon.
James Reid, Moira Dela Torre, Regine Velasquez, Vice Ganda and host Billy Crawford – these Kapamilya personalities comprised the show Idol Philippines.
This singing show is aiming to find the country’s newest “Idol”, thus, having auditions to the hopeful ones in chasing their dreams of becoming a singer. So far, a lot of hopefuls graced the show. Some had the four nods of the judges while there are some who weren’t able to. These auditionees showcased various genres of songs, in their own style with different dynamics. And recently aired, a hopeful Luke Baylon performing the Reggae version of “If I Ain’t Got You” of Alicia Keys dominated the online platform. Netizens were saying that he got that “factor” to be an idol and his voice is even unique. His performance is not perfect but to others, it was great and superb. But it seems like it was not the way it is for three judges Moira, Vice, and James for they said “no”.
The Songbird, the only one who gave her nod to him, on the other hand commented, “Ako actually I enjoyed it. It wasn’t very clean performance. May mga flats, may mga sharp. I did like your falsetto, it was very clean. Parang I didn’t care for the pagkadumi ng performance kasi it’s reggae. Kasi yung reggae diba parang ganun lang sya. Even if you’re singing a particular song parang you’re speaking lang. Diba parang ganun sya binibitawan…”

Wait? What happened? I liked his voice. How can you say that it’s not the right note when he performed his own rendition? And I think he’s better than the other contestants who were given the “chance” just ‘cus they can still “improve”.
Thats what you get by putting inexperienced and even out of his or her line judges in the panel. Only one knew of his potentials.
Dito ako nabuwisit kay Vice. Sobrang nakakainis ang expression niya when he said “No”. Bakit kayo ganyan? Sobrang treasure ng boses and performance niya pero hindi niyo na-appreciate.
Not gonna lie, i was already getting goosebumps before he even sang the song. Need more judges like Regine
