Police Arrests Driver Suspectedly Involved in Vote Buying in Quezon

DRIVER – The police authorities arrested a motorist who is suspectedly involved in vote buying for the upcoming Election 2019 in Quezon.

Undeniably, dirty tactics have a huge possibility of crossing the surface most especially during the Election season. The authorities and other concerned individuals continuously remind the public to aim for a clean political bid.

However, recently, the police authorities nabbed a motorist who is suspected to be involved in vote buying.

Based on a recent report on Inquirer, the police authorities flagged down the motorist identified as Fredilino Cunanan at a checkpoint along the Quirino Highway.

The 45-year-old man was flagged down by the authorities for not wearing a helmet. However, according Police Major Milo Tabernilla, folded sample ballots stapled with Php 500.00 fell from his bag when he opened it.

The said sample ballots hooked the police authorities’ attention. The ballots reportedly contained the name of Tagkawayan, Quezon mayoral candidate Roberto “Bommel” de Vero.

Based on the report, the police authorities arrested the driver for his suspected involvement in vote buying in Quezon and he is now detained. He admitted that the money and the sample ballots belong to him.

In a phone interview, Tabernilla expressed that Cunanan will be charged as a vote seller if he will execute an affidavit pointing the person who gave him the sample ballots and the money.
