Cebu Pacific Speaks on Series of Cancelled Flights

CEBU PACIFIC – The Cebu Pacific Airline reacted to the alleged reason behind its series of cancelled flights.

Since April 28, 2019, there was a series of cancelled flights under the Cebu Pacific Air which is one of the biggest airlines in the Philippines. Most of the suspended flights are covering domestic routes.

Aside from the cancelled flights in April 28-30, the airline is also cancelling 58 round trip domestic flights from May 1-10, 2019. The passengers were already informed that they have the following options:

  • Rebook their tickets within 30 days
  • Re-route their tickets within 30 days
  • Put the ticket price to a Travel Fund
  • Have the ticket refunded

Based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, the alleged reason behind the series of cancelled flights under Cebu Pacific is the absence of the employees. To this, the airline reacted.

Speaking to DZMM, Cebu Pacific spokesperson Charo Logara-Lagamon put down the allegation that the absence of the crew is the reason behind the cancelled flights.

According to Lagamon, the crew members are working even during their day-offs as they want to render duty and help the passengers.

“Wala naman po yatang katotohanan iyung pinalalabas na hindi sila pumapasok. I don’t think it’s fair and at this point in time, hindi po makakatulong sa sitwasyon,” he said.

Based on the report, amid the cancelled flights issues, the airline’s spokesperson expressed that what is important is to get the aircraft to fly which caused the suspension of some flights.

When asked if the airline would provide anything to the affected passengers aside from rebooking assistance, Lagamon expressed that they will cross it as the next step.
