A couple was robbed by a riding-in-tandem suspects while taking shelter from the rain in Barangay San Isidro, Taytay, Rizal.

A young couple became victims of a robbery after being targeted by armed suspects while taking shelter from the rain along the roadside.

“Nagpapatila po sila ng ulan…Ito pong mga suspek na ito ikot-ikot sila, itong mga biktima nakita ng mga suspek yung mag-jowa, bumaba, tinarget po yung mag-jowa. Makonsensya kayo sa mag-jowa. Kawawa naman po, pinaghirapan po nila yan,” Barangay San Isidro Peace and Safety Office Officer-In-Charge Dominador Peñaranda said.

CCTV footage captured the suspects approaching the location where the couple was staying. The men were wearing face masks and appeared to be watching the area before making their move.

Although the actual robbery was not recorded on camera, the victims later shared that the suspects immediately threatened them with a gun and a knife.

The couple found themselves trapped and outnumbered. Fearing for their safety, they chose not to resist. The suspects took their expensive motorcycle, valued at nearly P200,000, along with their mobile phones.

After taking the valuables, the suspects quickly fled the scene. CCTV footage showed them escaping while riding the stolen motorcycle. In their rush to leave, they were no longer wearing helmets.

Barangay officials believe the couple may have simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Initial observations suggest that the suspects were roaming around the area and may have spotted the couple when they stopped waiting for the rain to pass.

Police authorities are continuing their investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspects. Reports indicate that the group escaped toward Cainta, Rizal. Security measures in the area have also been strengthened as authorities work to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
